Vedanta’s Sesa Football Academy organises ‘Football for Fun’ event to engage with Children
- More than 40 kids participated in various fun & sports activities conducted at Sesa Football Academy (SFA) Sirsaim campus and learnt the fundamentals of sports
Sirsaim, 17th November: Vedanta’s Sesa Football Academy (SFA) organised ‘Football for Fun’ event at their Sirsaim academy campus for the kids and their parents. Over 40 kids in the age group of 3-14 years participated in the event along with their parents for fun-filled and highly engaging session at SFA including various activities such as ice breaker games, warm up sessions, matches for kids & parents etc. The numerous sessions were planned and executed by the experienced coaches and senior football team of Sesa Football Academy to provide insights about the basics of sports to the kids. Winners of games and other activities were awarded at the end of the program.
Sports development is one of the major thrust areas of Vedanta’s CSR initiatives and through such initiatives and grassroot training programs, the company aims to identify and nurture the budding sports talents. Vedanta’s Sesa Football Academy is one of the high impact Sports development programs in Goa state contributing to the upliftment of football since more than two decades and has groomed over 200+ professional footballers. SFA is continuously driving multiple initiatives such as pop-up football camps, Vedanta Football schools, Summer & Winter camps, Football training camps for the youth etc. Vedanta’s women football league is also remarkably contributing to the field of women football.

Sesa Football Academy has grown significantly over the past two decades in its mission to develop footballing talent from Goa and from other parts of the country. Through various such events, SFA is creating a conducive environment for the young champs to grow and learn about football.

About SESA Football Academy
An initiative of SESA Community Development Foundation (SCDF), SESA Football Academy (SFA) was founded in 1999 for the holistic development of the local youths through football. The academy has created the conditions for discovering, creating and building talent for football. SFA does not restrict itself to football trainings but involves in a long term residential program which takes care of the formal education, skill development of the trainees during the four-year training period.
The academy has a strong focus on women empowerment through football. Since inception, SFA has trained around 200 footballers and has made tremendous impact on the football fraternity in Goa as well as across India. The graduates from SFA are serving in the national teams, Indian Super League (ISL), I-League clubs of India and clubs in Goa. 7 players have earned the national team cap and several players played the elite ISL.
