First campus of SFA was developed on the reclaimed Sanquelim Mine, with a vision to become a premier academy in India. It aims to develop quality footballers from the state of Goa and all across the country.

We strongly believe that Indian youth has immense talent and aptitude for sports. At Vedanta Sports, our constant endeavour is to identify and nurture these talents through our grass root training programs, and thereby support the vision of Government of India to take Indian sporting ecosystem to new heights. Under this vision, we are focussing on identifying, grooming and nurturing football talent from all across the nation through Sesa Football Academy. Through our initiatives like Vedanta Women’s League which is particularly close to my heart, we are providing a platform to women footballers from Goa to excel in football. Our alumni have achieved great success in their career and we are extremely proud of them.

We are committed towards positively transforming Indian sports by scouting and grooming of sporting talents across the country through our robust grassroot training programs. I believe, India has massive potential to excel manifold in sports and we are extremely determined to contribute maximum towards upliftment of Indian sports to achieve greater heights in global sports arena. Sesa Football Academy (SFA) is one of the major sports intervention, supporting development of Indian football for more than two decades through various structured initiatives, right from residential football academies to successful introduction of unique Vedanta Women’s football League. Our constant endeavour is to expand the reach of our sports development initiatives and create a conducive environment for skill development through sports.

At Vedanta, we are committed towards the transformation of Indian sports through our robust grassroot sports development programs across the country. Sesa Football Academy (SFA) is an important wing of Vedanta’s sports initiative, immensely contributing to the development of Indian Football. SFA has a rich legacy of over two decades in discovering & nurturing over 230 footballing talents through structured residential training programs and groom them as professional footballers. Our alumni are shining at various prestigious footballing platforms across the country including Indian National Team, Elite ISL, I-League etc. We believe, Indian Football has massive potential and to further expand the reach of our sports development initiative, we launched one of its kind platforms, for aspiring women footballers i.e. Vedanta Women’s League which is turning out to be a huge success. It is providing opportunity to over 300+ aspiring women footballers. Vedanta Football schools, Vedanta Youth Cup and Football for Fun programs are some of the extensions of our football development initiatives. They are helping in identification of budding talents in order to initiate grooming at early stages.

I have been associated with SFA since early years and have seen the academy grow into what it is right now. SFA has nurtured brilliant football talents and helped many footballers find their path in the game since its inception. Their quality grass root training programs carve a holistic journey for students and also helps in their overall growth.
Ace midfielder Pratesh Shirodkar started his footballing journey with a training stint at SFA before representing prestigious squads such as Mumbai FC and FC Goa in the ISL. This highly skilled footballer, is now plying his trade at Real Kashmir FC and his games are a delight to watch.
Glan Martins joined SFA in 2010 and he also appeared for USL trials in 2014. Martins made his professional debut for the Flaming Orange against the now-defunct Bharat FC. He played for two seasons in the I-League donning the orange shirt and appeared in 13 I-League matches. Glan Martins became an overnight sensation at FC Goa after he scored a stunning long-range goal against Mumbai City in the 2020-21 season of the Indian Super League (ISL) back in February. He made his international debut for India on 3 June 2021 in the 2022 World Cup qualifier against Qatar.
Present Ace footballer of India, Adil Khan started his footballing journey at Sesa Football Academy in 2003 and he played for 5 years before moving to Sporting Clube De Goa in 2008. Presently, he is the defensive midfielder for India and he certainly has been a force to reckon with. He played for prestigious clubs such as Sporting Clube de Goa, Mohan Bagan AC and the Delhi Dynamos. He has also represented India in Asia cup qualifiers and scored an 89th minute equaliser against Bangladesh.
Denzil Franco! This outstanding talent graduated from SFA played at the top tier of Indian football representing clubs such as Mahindra United, Churchill Brothers, and Atletico De Kolkata. Denzil also proudly wore the blues for India in the AFC Challenge and won the Nehru Cup in 2012. He is currently a commentator, and his legend inspires emerging footballers.
Vedanta Women’s League prodigy Karishma Shirvoikar, belonging to a small village, Odxel, Goa is shining at National and international footballing platforms. Karishma, a born talent comes from a humble family background and was initially deprived of the bare minimum facilities to support her dream of being a professional footballer. First edition of Vedanta Women’s League came up as a once in lifetime opportunity for Karishma to showcase her unbelievable football skills and nurture her talent. She stunned many during her first appearance in inaugural edition of Vedanta Women’s League with her lightning speed and spectacular football skills. After her mesmerizing performance at Vedanta Women’s league followed by registering the fastest goal in the history of National women’s Championships, Karishma has now secured herself a place among the top 20 players selected for the senior Women’s National Team for the forthcoming AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2022. Spanish Club Palamos CF offered her the training opportunity. Karishma also bagged a spot in Indian U-17 National Team for BRICS U-17 Football Tournament. Karishma played for IWL 2020 representing Gokulam Kerala FC, wherein she scored hat-trick against Kenkre FC.
The centre back from Curtorim, Goa is one of the most experienced players in the Indian National Football Team squad at the moment, along with the likes of Ashalata Devi and Sweety Devi. Castanha was a regular fixture at the back for Gokulam Kerala in the 2018-19 Hero IWL, where she helped her side reach the semi-final of the competition. Michel shined at Vedanta Women’s League grabbing everyone’s attention with her skills.
