Sesa Football Academy: A Season of Triumphs
Dream Sports Championship Victory
The SFA U-17 team emerged victorious in the U-17 Dream Sports Championship, defeating Dempo SC 4-2 (2-2 regulation time) in a thrilling final at Guirim, Goa. Led by Captain Granville Fernandes, the team maintained an unbeaten streak throughout the six-team tournament, which featured some of Goa’s top football clubs.
This remarkable triumph at the Regional Finals has secured the SFA U-17 team a direct entry into the National Finals, scheduled for April 2025. The victory is a testament to the academy’s strong developmental program and the resilience of its young players.
Batora United Curtorim Women’s Soccer Tournament Champions
The #SFALionesses continued their dominant run in women’s football by clinching the title at the Batora United Curtorim Women’s Soccer Tournament. They secured a 1-0 victory against Livvals SC in a high-intensity final at Curtorim, Goa, demonstrating tactical brilliance and unwavering determination.
The team remained unbeaten throughout the tournament, showcasing their superiority in women’s football. Sushmita Jadhav was honored with both the ‘Player of the Match’ and ‘Player of the Tournament’ awards, while Rhea Pires and Ashika Gadekar were named ‘Best Defender’ and ‘Best Goalkeeper’, respectively.
Reliance Foundation Development League (RFDL) – Phase 2 Qualification
The SFA U-21 team delivered an exceptional performance in the Reliance Foundation Development League (RFDL), securing a place in the second phase of the tournament. The team exhibited outstanding skills and determination throughout the league matches, earning crucial victories and draws against strong opponents:
- 2-0 win over Dempo SC
- 4-0 victory against Churchill Brothers
- 1-1 draw against Sporting Clube de Goa
- 1-1 draw against Clube de Salgaocar
These performances solidified SFA U-21’s reputation as one of the top emerging teams in Indian football.
National Games 2025 – SFA’s Strong Representation for Goa
Sesa Football Academy (SFA) continued its proud tradition of contributing to Indian football, with Head Coach Charles Dias, Goalkeeping Coach Jason D’Mello, and eight SFA players representing Team Goa at the National Games 2025.

Vedanta Women’s League (VWL) Champions – #SFALionesses Make History
The SFA Senior Women’s Team created history by being crowned Champions of the 8th Vedanta Women’s League (VWL)—a landmark achievement in only their second year in the league.With an ‘all-win’ record, the team dominated the tournament, scoring 47 goals while conceding only 4, firmly establishing themselves as a leading force in women’s football in Goa.
The six-team VWL concluded with a grand prize distribution ceremony, attended by esteemed dignitaries, including:

Goa University Clinches West Zone Inter-University Women’s Football Title
Goa University emerged champions of the West Zone Inter-University Women’s Football Championship in Kota, Rajasthan, outplaying 40+ teams to secure the top spot.
Led by captain Rizella Almeida, the 22-member squad, coached by Ryan and Worrel, delivered dominant performances. Nine players from the Sesa Football Academy (SFA) Senior Women’s Team played a crucial role in their success.
Goa’s campaign featured:
- 4-1 win over Shivaji University, Kolhapur (Qualifiers)
- 3-0 win vs Gujarat University (Goals: Rizella, Blessica)
- 2-0 win vs University of Mumbai
- 2-0 win vs LNIPE Gwalior (Rizella – Player of the Match)
Goa University secured 1st place, followed by LNIPE Gwalior (2nd), North Gujarat University, Patan (3rd), and University of Mumbai (4th).
