6 th edition of Vedanta Women’s Football League to begin from 13th November
- Five teams to participate in Vedanta Women’s Football league this season.
Panaji, Goa 10th Nov. 2022: The 6th Edition of Vedanta Women’s Football League is all set to kick off from 13th November’22 with doubleheader between Sinquerim SC v/s CSM Taleigao and Compassion FC v/s Kelbai SC at Duler & Navelim football grounds respectively. Five participating teams namely Kelbai SC, CSM Taleigao, Churchill Brothers FC, Compassion FC & Sinquerim SC, will compete in double leg format for the championship title this season. The league tournament is likely to conclude by the end of November.
Vedanta Women’s football League is one of its kind footballing platforms launched by Vedanta in collaboration with Goa Football Association (GFA) to provide opportunities to the aspiring women footballers across the state to showcase their talent, and to support them to excel further in Football. Throughout last five editions, women footballers from all corners of the state participated in the league, and this season as well over 60+ Women footballers will be participating for this prestigious league. Shirvoikar, Michel Castanha and others are shining at various prestigious national & International footballing platforms.

Vedanta Women’s League initiative provides opportunitiesto women players to compete and pursue professional career in football. Since its inception the league has provided platform to over 300 footballers.

About SESA Football Academy
An initiative of SESA Community Development Foundation (SCDF), SESA Football Academy (SFA) was founded in 1999 for the holistic development of the local youths through football. The academy has created the conditions for discovering, creating and building talent for football. SFA does not restrict itself to football trainings but involves in a long term residential program which takes care of the formal education, skill development of the trainees during the four-year training period.
The academy has a strong focus on women empowerment through football. Since inception, SFA has trained around 200 footballers and has made tremendous impact on the football fraternity in Goa as well as across India. The graduates from SFA are serving in the national teams, Indian Super League (ISL), I-League clubs of India and clubs in Goa. 7 players have earned the national team cap and several players played the elite ISL.
