SFA Facilitates Skill & Expertise Upgrade With The Successful Completion fo The AFC ‘C’ License Course
Sesa Football Academy (SFA) recently concluded the AFC ‘C’ License course at its Sirsaim Campus. Held from September 6th to 16th, the prestigious 11-day program was designed to enhance the tactical, technical, and managerial competencies of football coaches. The course attracted 20 participants from Goa and other regions across India.
The course was conducted under the guidance of Mr. Gavin Araujo, Technical Director at SFA, who provided expert instruction in both theoretical and practical sessions. The training offered participants in-depth tactical insights and technical expertise suited for state, semi-professional, and professional-level coaching.
Reflecting on the successful completion of the course, Mr. Gavin Araujo said, “It has been a pleasure working with such passionate and dedicated coaches throughout this course. The AFC ‘C’ License is a critical stepping stone for those looking to elevate their coaching careers, and I am confident that the skills and knowledge imparted over the past 11 days will contribute to the continued growth of football in India.”
SFA also recently conducted the AIFF ‘D’ License course at its Sirsaim campus, and has gradually developed a formidable expertise in nurturing and mentoring coaches at various levels from across India.
Additionally, SFA hosted Mr. Uvaydo Davlatbekov, a member of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Grassroots Panel. Mr. Davlatbekov’s visit, facilitated by the Goa Football Association (GFA) and the All-India Football Federation (AIFF), involved a tour of the ongoing ‘C’ License training and an overview of SFA’s grassroots football infrastructure. He was also briefed on Vedanta’s broader Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in sports and other sectors.The visiting dignitary was briefed on issues by Mr. Melroy Moura, Head of Operations at SFA & Mr. Sudhir Menon, AIFF Match Commissioner for I-League Group B matches.

About SESA Football Academy
An initiative of SESA Community Development Foundation (SCDF), SESA Football Academy (SFA) was founded in 1999 for the holistic development of the local youths through football. The academy has created the conditions for discovering, creating and building talent for football. SFA does not restrict itself to football trainings but involves in a long term residential program which takes care of the formal education, skill development of the trainees during the four-year training period.
The academy has a strong focus on women empowerment through football. Since inception, SFA has trained around 200 footballers and has made tremendous impact on the football fraternity in Goa as well as across India. The graduates from SFA are serving in the national teams, Indian Super League (ISL), I-League clubs of India and clubs in Goa. 7 players have earned the national team cap and several players played the elite ISL.
