Sesa Football Academy’s (SFA) Senior Women’s Team has been crowned Champions of the 8th Vedanta Women’s League (VWL), marking their maiden title victory in only their second season, post their debut in 2023. The #SFALionesses dominated the league, maintaining an all-win record and showcasing exceptional attacking and defensive prowess, scoring 47 goals while conceding only 4.

The Vedanta Women’s League 2024 is all set for a launch on 22 Nov 24 and the official commencement of the event was marked by the Jersey Unveiling Ceremony held at the Sesa Goa Head Office at Panjim. The participating teams include Sesa Football Academy, Calangute Association, Guardian Angels SC, Livval Sports Club, Patrong Sports Club & Maina Sports Club. The launch of the VWL underscores Vedanta Sesa Goa’s commitment to supporting women’s football & empowering women through meaningful initiatives.

The 8^th edition of the Vedanta Women’s League is set to be launched on 22 Nov 24. The elite football league for women in Goa will feature six teams. Since its inception in 2017, the League has become a cornerstone in the development of women’s football in Goa, providing a platform for aspiring female athletes to showcase their talent and pursue their dreams of playing for India.

Vedanta’s Sesa Football Academy (SFA) has received the elite 3-star All India Football Federation (AIFF) Accreditation for youth development. The confirmation was received as part of the AIFF announcement of the Phase 1 results for its 2024-25 Academy Accreditation.  The accreditation is based on a stringent evaluation of the football academies, and the ratings recognise the academies that conform to AIFF standards. The ratings are a reflection of the level of accomplishment of a academy in furthering the goals of football development in India.

Goa, November 6, 2024: In a heartening development for football talent in India, Sesa Football Academy successfully helmed and anchored the 3rd Vedanta Youth Cup. The 8-team elite tournament for U-15 age group was organised across Goa & in collaboration with Goa Football Association. Played on a Group-cum knockout basis, the tournament featured two-groups of four teams each. Three out station elite age group teams -Bengaluru FC, Muthoot FA, Zinc Football Academy – joined five teams from Goa, including Sesa Football Academy.
